N E W S All Stars FC met with Manchester and Cheshire Dogs’ Home for a charity football match and family fun day at Abbey Hey FC Stadium. Around 70 spectators arrived to cheer on the dogs home and spot the celebrities. Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs, Coronation Street) was popular with the crowd and kindly posed for photos and selfies. He was joined by other Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks stars such as Chris Bisson, Joe Gill and Ashley Taylor Dawson. Ryan Giggs’ brother Rhodri Giggs also played for the celebs. Chris Bisson for The All Stars started the goal scoring with the final score being 8-0 to the All Stars. A fun day was had by all and a total of £460 was raised from the match. The signed football encouraged good ticket sales and was won by an MDH regular volunteer, Josh, who also made an appearance on the pitch. Josh is a volunteer who walks dogs with his Aunt Tina. Tina also won a pair of Manchester United framed pictures (I think they bought quite a few tickets!) FC United kindly loaned a team kit to the Dogs Home team and Abbey Hey FC were superb hosts for the event, allowing us to use their grounds and facilities.
